Why I Do What I Do

I fulfilled a dream when I relocated from Arizona to the East Coast in the fall of 2010 after proudly graduating with my undergraduate degree in public relations. I have led national marketing and communication campaigns over my decade-long career with partners like The Rhode Island School of Design, The Peace Corps, NBC News, and President Obama’s White House Administration.

In the spring of 2020, I obtained my master’s in communication from Clark University. In 2022, I completed The University of Pennsylvania’s master’s level Executive Program for Digital Media in Social Impact and served as an alumni Teaching Fellow in 2023, mentoring and guiding cohort students throughout their learning journey.

I was also selected to participate in the 2024 Global Social Impact House, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, Center for Social Impact Strategy at Macaw eco-lodge in Turrubares, Costa Rica.

Before launching WordSpark Consulting in early 2020, I previously served as National Senior Communications Manager for the education nonprofit organization City Year and Marketing and Communications Manager for youth mentoring intermediary MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership.

WordSpark’s core values are reflected in anti-racist, anti-colonial and anti-capitalist movements, including queer and feminist frameworks. This allows me to provide strategic advice that focuses on dismantling systems of oppression, while elevating social impact solutions that are human-centered.

Beyond my professional interests, I am lifelong community builder, serving as a mental health advocate for over a decade. I am also a freelance writer and the author of Awakening to Nature’s Beauty 10 New England Meditations for the Wandering Spirit, an immersive book encouraging self-care and exploration of the outdoors.

Recently, my creative investments have expanded to art photography. A piece I developed in the darkroom was recently included in Fleisher Art Memorial’s annual 2025 winter showcase.

I am a big-picture thinker, transformational leader, educator and mentor with an unending passion for helping innovative social impact leaders meet their goals. I can’t wait to collaborate with you.

Ethical consulting practices and collaborative client relationships are at the core of WorkSpark’s values.
